Description

Many believe the wild sheep to be the pinnacle of North American hunting. Dall Sheep inhabit high alpine mountains and are found throughout all the major ranges of Alaska. Their lodge is ideally located in the western Alaska Range allowing a base of operation with proximity to remote and rugged mountainous terrain where sheep are found and logistically inaccessible to other hunters. “The great white sheep of the north” is what many hunters dream of taking when they come to Alaska. Their season runs from August 10th – September 20th with most rams being taken on their summer range throughout August. Rams harvested with them are typically 8 – 10 years old, and average 36” – 38” length. Most sheep hunts are done “bivy style” from minimal backpack camps accessed by airplane and ATV from their lodge. The remote portions of the Alaska Range have historically produced several rams each year over 40” length. Hunting method is spot and stalk with significant time spent glassing. Their guides are well equipped, high energy, and knowledgeable when it comes to judging sheep. Hunters must be in good physical shape for a sheep hunt, as mountain hunting can be very physically demanding. They will provide a gear list to ensure you come fully prepared with the proper equipment and expectations to make your hunt successful and enjoyable.
