Hunt the famed Gila National Forest for Trophy Bull Elk with a lifelong resident of the area. This outfitter is very experienced and has lifelong knowledge of this huge area. Hunts are high success with an emphasis on older class trophy animals. Camps are kept small to ensure quality over quantity.

There are abundant elk in this area, encounters with all sizes of bulls will happen. Quality depends on the hunter and what kind of animal he or she is looking to harvest. This is a great area with traditionally good numbers of trophy size bulls. These public units are traditionally some of New Mexico's top trophy producing units.

Landowner tags can be purchased from the outfitter. Tag prices range between $7500 and $15,000 depending on the area chosen.

Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

This is mountainous country, hiking is required to get into areas where elk live. Be prepared to use your legs to access remote canyons and terrain to find a trophy bull.
Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
Hunters are responsible for getting to and from camp. Hunters can drive from their homes or rent a vehicle in ABQ and drive to camp.

Description
Typical elk hunting gear is required, layering helps to adjust to rising or falling temps and shedding layers when hiking. Binos, range finder, good broken in boots for hiking, rain gear is a good idea. A packpack to carry gear, meat and shed clothing and water.
