Description

This is a 5 day fully guided 1:2 (one hunter 2 guides) mountain lion hunt in Colorado or Utah (or both if the hunter desires!). All of standard mountain lion hunts come with two guides, this doubles the amount of country the outfitter covers and greatly increase the success of each hunt. This outfitter offers many hunts, but his true passion is chasing mountain lion. Six months out of the year you will find him roaming the foothills of western Colorado and eastern Utah searching for the majestic mountain lion that call this country home. There is no bigger rush than being up close and personal with a large cougar. This outfit offers two kinds of cat hunting experiences: winter & spring/dry ground. Each option offers an entirely different experience. This outfitter breeds and trains his own strain of mountain lion hounds that are cougar catching machines! This gives the outfitter the ability to catch cats anytime, anyplace, in almost any condition. Base camp is located on the border of Colorado and Utah so th outfitter is a licensed outfitter in both states. This allows for a very large area to hunt, covering 7 game management units in Colorado as well as a large portion of eastern Utah. This outfitter hunts 5 days a week 6-8 months out of the year to ensure his hounds are as good as they can be. All of this makes us the perfect choice to assist you on a guided cougar hunt. The outfitter we will notify you prior to the start of your hunt on which tag to buy. If the conditions are right, once you harvest your first cat you will be given the opportunity to harvest a second cat in the other state if you wish to do so. This Outfitter has options available to take two hunters at a time. Please let us know ahead of time so outfitter can plan accordingly.

        Tags in most of our areas are available over the counter with no need to apply in a draw. Outfitter will notify you prior to the start of your hunt on which tag to buy.

        Refund Policy:

        Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

        Lodging will be provided as a clean and comfortable trailer. Sometimes traveling will be most productive to find the biggest toms. If need be, outfitter will supply a motel room if travel is needed.

        All meals will be provided for this hunt. Homestyle cooking-meat and potatoes. Hot meals served for breakfast and dinner. Bagged lunches will be provided for the afternoon.

        Hunter should be prepared for heavy hiking for this hunt. Lions live in steep and rocky terrain. Field transportation will be provided in the forms of horseback, Side x Sides, snowmobile and truck.


        Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

        Final destination city is Grand Junction, Colorado if hunter prefers to fly. Outfitter will pick up hunters at the airport and transport them to camp. The lodge is approximately a 25 minute drive to the airport.

        Description

        After booking, the outfitter will check both the 10 day and 5 day forecast before hunter arrives and report what weather pattern looks like. Hunting at higher elevations can cause extreme weather changes in very short periods of time. Hunter should expect to be in cold weather and hiking in the snow when the lion is bayed up. Waterproof and insulated boots are a must. Be prepared and be warm! Full gear list to be provided when booked.
