Description
This river valley is well known for it's lush habitat with vast tracts of grassy hillsides and a large presence of water. This in return creates stable food source in the winter and a healthy environment for elk populations to flourish. Hunting these screaming bulls is often an action packed hunt that places you in some of the most scenic settings one can imagine. This is a 1:1 horseback fully guided 10 day hunt for big bulls in the rut in the rocky mountains.

Group Options
Trophy fees are for additional species not included in your hunt package. For example the sheep/goat combo hunt includes both species, there are no trophy fees associated with the goat or sheep. Trophy fees are paid in advance for goat, moose and elk. Trophy fee will be returned at the completion of hunt if additional animal is not harvested. Option for a non-hunter. Refund Policy:
Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.
Description
All of these elk hunts are done with horses in this vast hunting concession. Hunter will leave base camp at the start of the hunt and head to a spike camp, typically a comfortable wall tent and/or cabin where hunter will stay for the duration of the hunt. From the spike camp hunter and guide will set out each day bugling for bulls. All of these elk hunts take place during the rut to ensure an exciting and memorable hunt. All of these elk hunts are 10 full hunting days (12 days total). Clients wishing to hunt the 3 point+ early season will need to hunt the first hunt date. Every date following is 6 point or better season. Only 4 hunters are taken every year. September 7-17 - 3 point + open until Sept 9 then it switches to 6 point restriction. Rut dates are September 11-21 and Sept 17-27. The base camp is nestled in heart of the remote Northern Rocky Mountains park. Situated in the park has advantages, it means no atvs, no mining and minimal human disturbance. Allowing for all hunters to experience the wild north in the same setting they did hundreds of years ago, cultivating memorable experiences for the true outdoorsman. This outfitter's mission is to provide traditional world-class horseback hunting adventure in one of the most scenic locations on earth. Located inside the Northern Rocky Mountains Provincial Park, this outfit is one of few outfits fortunate enough to be allowed to operate within a protected park area. All of our clients enjoy superb lodging during their hunt with this outfitter. Base camp will be in small, clean, and comfortable cabins. In some cases a wall tent or spike camp will be utilized to find game. Outfitter will supply tents but hunter must bring a sleeping bag and be flexible moving if game is found in different areas.

During your stay a full time chef will prepare excellent home-cooked meals. The day typically starts with a big breakfast before the hunter heads out for a day of hunting. The guide will pack a lunch and snacks for midday. Upon the return from the hunt a hot supper will await. Whether you are joining for a black bear, mountain goat trophy moose hunt, or elk hunt, this is the ideal location to relax after an exciting day of hunting. The lodge has plenty of space to enjoy a beverage and tell stories of the days adventures. If wall tent or spike camp is utilized then field kitchen will be provided with a mix of fresh food and backpacking food.

All of these elk hunts are spot and stalk with sightings throughout the day during the rut making for an exciting and active hunt! Hunter will need to be in good physical shape to hike to get into areas with big bulls.
Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
When traveling here your destination is Fort Saint John, British Columbia. A member of the team will pick hunters up at the airport upon arrival, from there you will head straight to camp. Scheduled charter costs are included in the hunt cost.

Description
Hunter should be prepared for any type of weather during this hunt. Weather may be cooler or snow may be present. Generally hunts booked in earlier September will produce warmer weather and longer days to hunt. Outfitter will provide airport pick up and drop off service to the local airport. Maximum amount of gear allowed on charter flight is 80lbs including a rifle. No hard cases are allowed on the charter and must be left in town. Unscheduled flights (early departure) can be arranged if requested for an additional $2500.00 and must be paid to outfitter before arrangements are made. What are not included in the hunt price: Commercial flights, non-scheduled charter flights in/from camp, hotel rooms before or after the hunt, trophy shipment or taxidermy, meat flights (if required), licenses, tags, and government issued harvest royalties, and gratuities. Full gear list to be provided when booked if requested.
