Description
A great hunt for a hunter up for a big challenge. Persian Ibex were released in New Mexico in the 1970's and provided a great hunt in the Florida Mountains. Hunter can expect a very physically demanding hunt as these mountains are tough. This hunt can be arranged for archery, muzzleloader, or rifle, although archery hunt success are around 1% and not recommended. This is a 6 day fully guided 1:2 (1 hunter, 2 guides) hunt. Meals and lodging are included. If you apply with this outfitter, first choice will be rifle and second choice muzzleloader, unless otherwise specified. *Hunters will not be applied for archery as third choice unless requested.

Rifle hunts will be applied for as first choice. Muzzleloader hunts will be chosen as second choice. Outfitter does have a long range muzzleloader for hunters to use for small fee if muzzleloader is drawn. It is not recommended to apply for archery as third choice unless hunter requests. Only 1% of licensed archery hunters are successful on ibex with a bow.

Refund Policy:
Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

Note: We do prepare our delicious food a little on the spicy side so if you have a problem with that we ask that you please let us know ahead of time so that we can help you enjoy your meal all the more. Based on the kind of hunt booked (wall tent or lodge) depending on the unit drawn, the outfitter will supply a field kitchen for meals.

This hunt is not for the faint of heart. Hunter can expect hard and heavy hiking for this hunt. The Florida Mountains are steep and rocky. Hunter will need to be prepared for long days of glassing and steep terrain to traverse to get a good shot at the target billy.
Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
Whether driving or flying, the outfitter recommends that hunter arrives a day or two before your hunt, in order to make sure you are ready for the first day of the hunt. You are responsible for your transportation to and from Albuquerque International Airport, It is a good idea to rent a truck or SUV for the roads you’ll be traveling. Outfitter will meet hunters at their home base bed and breakfast before the hunt starts.

Description
Hunter will be hunting in the months of November and December and should expect some cooler weather in the mornings and evenings. Good layering system is recommended. Hunter will need to be prepared to sit and glass for hours and then hike hard to get to a good position for a shot once a target billy is located. Outfitter will supply field transportation, meals and lodging for this hunt. This hunt will also supply 2 guides per hunter for extra eyes on the mountain. Outfitter will also have a custom long range muzzleloader hunter can use for a minimal fee if desired. Full gear list to be provided if requested when booked.
