                  Deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred to another date with consultation of the outfitter. Changes within the calendar year may incur additional costs.

                  Description

                  These hunts are conducted from our main lodge or remote backcountry cabins to reduce travel time. Hunts are primarily spot and stalk. Being able to hike at a decent pace and having better than normal shooting abilities can increase your odds.

                  Hunter should be prepared to do some moderate hiking. This is a spot and stalk hunt. Better physical condition will provide better shot opportunity. Outfitter can accommodate any physical ability.


                  Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

                  Transitional airport: Auckland Final Destination airport: Blenheim Transfers to and from Blenheim at the beginning and end of your hunt. Field transportation is provided. We utilize a Honda Side-by-Side for field transport.

                  Description

                  Gear List: Time of year and the animals being targeted will ultimately determine the gear you’ll need. Be sure that all your gear is either new or thoroughly clean on arrival into New Zealand. Customs in New Zealand are very strict on outdoor equipment and will want to view any items that may have organic material on them, especially boots. The Lodge and all our accommodation have washing facilities, so cleaning and drying gear is not usually a problem. - February and March provide long daylight hours and warm temperatures (50-90 degrees Fahrenheit). - April through May the days shorten but cooler temperatures provide longer hunting opportunities through the day (30-70 degrees Fahrenheit). - June, July and August are our winter months and temperatures are cooler especially for tahr and chamois hunts (20-60 degrees Fahrenheit). Early Season (February through April) - Boots (sturdy with good ankle support) - Good Socks (wool) - Thermal top - Lightweight hunting pants - Lightweight hunting shirt - Jacket- Windproof essential. At least shower proof. - Lightweight Gloves - Warm Hat/Beanie - Gaiters- Essential on tahr/chamois hunts - Cap - Sunglasses - Sunscreen- Essential early season. - Small daypack - Headlamp - Binoculars - Camera - Walking Poles- Personal Preference - Knife- not essential but handy Late Season (May through August) - Boots (sturdy with good ankle support) - Good Socks (wool) - Thermal top and bottoms - Lightweight and mid-weight hunting pants - Hunting shirt - Jacket- Windproof essential.
