Description
Experience the thrill of a Sonora Desert Sheep hunt, an unforgettable adventure in one of the most rugged and remote regions of North America. Known for its breathtaking desert landscapes, the Sonora Desert offers an incredible backdrop for pursuing the elusive Desert Bighorn Sheep, one of the most sought-after trophies in North America. These sheep are renowned for their impressive horns, and a hunt in the Sonora Desert provides an opportunity to take a true trophy. The terrain is challenging, with steep cliffs, rocky slopes, and arid conditions, requiring skill and stamina to track and harvest your target. The desert environment is harsh, but the reward of bagging a mature, trophy-class ram is unmatched. Guided by an experienced team with extensive knowledge of the area, you'll embark on an exciting journey through the Sonora Desert on the Eastern Slope of the Rocky range North of Keno Bay, navigating its rugged and steep terrain while spotting these magnificent sheep. This hunt takes place over several days, allowing ample time to track and find the perfect ram. Hunters will be accompanied by 3 hunting professionals on their hunt. The hunt takes place on a private ranch of 45,000 acres with great population of free range B&C quality rams.

Description
All of our Desert sheep hunting is done within the state of Sonora, Mexico. The mountain ranges that parallel the Sea of Cortez consist of vast and sharply etched desert peaks that can look intimidating to the untrained eye. Typically a hunting day will consist of hiking with your guides glassing from vantage points. Desert Rams, especially free range, can be very difficult to spot and patience is a virtue while searching for a mature desert sheep. Rams can be found alone and occasionally in larger bands of 5 or more. The average day glassing for sheep a hunter can see an average of 10-20+ between rams, ewes, and lambs. Hunter will be hunting on all private land on a ranch of 45,000 acres. All sheep are free-range, on this spot and stalk hunts.

Hunt is spot and stalk. Upon locating a ram of your choice, 1-3 miles of hiking would be the expected range to harvest your ram. Due to the density of sheep and the remote/private nature of the hunt, special care is taken to not disturb native populations unless harvest is imminent.
Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
All flights will need to be booked with Hermosillo, Mexico as your final destination. Due to the laws pertaining to firearms in Mexico, hunters bringing their rifles will need to fly direct from Phoenix to Hermosillo with no connections anywhere in Mexico. Hermosillo is where your rifle permit will be located upon entry into the country. Upon your arrival you will need to check your rifle, outfitter will handle all gun permits prior to your arrival along with notifying Mexico customs of your necessary permits. Once you've cleared security, the outfitter will meet with you, the time of arrival will determine whether you depart for camp immediately or commence first thing the following morning.

Description
Desert sheep hunting is not as strenuous compared to the other 3 North American sheep, although outfitters do ask that hunters come prepared to hike. As a desert sheep hunting outfitter, they prefer a hunter that is capable of longer shots and able to hike a reasonable amount. All of the sheep in this territory are native to the area and completely free range, the biggest indicator is the dark horns. A full gear list and gear consultation will be provided by Rolling Bones Outdoors as part of your Adventure Journey.
