Description
A great opportunity to hunt large bull elk in New Mexico. This hunt targets trophy units for both successful draw applicants and for those who want to hunt on a landowner voucher. Archery hunts will be 1:1 fully guided 6 day hunts. Rifle and muzzleloader hunts will be conducted for 5 days. All meals and lodging will be provided for this hunt. Depending on what unit is drawn, lodging will vary from wall tent, to lodge, to outfitter provided hotel. Some units require horseback and pack ins, while some are less physical.

Refund Policy:
Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.
Description
This outfitter offers a 6 day (archery) and 5 day (rifle and muzzleloader) New Mexico elk hunt. We offer private land tags in South Central New Mexico, as well as guide services on public land throughout New Mexico and in the Gila National Forest, units 15, 16 A, B, C, D, E, 17, 18, 34, 36, and 37. Your hunt can be booked as fully outfitted, guided only, and drop camp options are available. You can expect hunting on foot, by horse, mule, ATV or truck. The Gila Wilderness consists of millions of acres in South West New Mexico and was established on June 3, 1924.

Depending on the unit drawn or selected will determine what kind of lodging is provided. Camp may be in the wilderness in a form of a wall tent, or based out of the lodge or local motel. All will be provided by the outfitter.

Meals are provided on this hunt. Depending on what unit is drawn, meals will either be provided in a field kitchen (wilderness hunts) or at the lodge. Homestyle cooking-meat and potatoes.

Physical conditions will vary based on the unit. Some hunts will utilize horses while others will use Side x Sides and ATVs. Hunter should be prepared to do some moderate hiking in pursuit of big bulls. Hunter can expect 2-4 miles a day of hiking depending on where the tag is drawn/purchased.
Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
Final destination city is either Albuquerque, NM or Las Cruses, NM. Best airport to fly into is Albuquerque. Depending on the unit drawn, hunter can expect a 2-4 hour drive to camp. If flying, hunter must rent a car to get to camp.

This hunt will take place during the months of September-November. September hunts will be warmer weather and hunter should be prepared with layering systems. Hiking conditions and terrain will depend on what unit is drawn or what landowner vouchers are available. Field transportation will be provided by either horses, side x sides, or truck depending on the unit. Full gear list to be provided when booked.
