Description

Unit 51 is located in the northwestern corner of Wyoming along the borders of Yellowstone National Park and Montana, offers an exceptional hunting experience. With a significant amount of public land and prime elk habitat, this area holds great trophy potential, thanks to the limited number of tags issued. The unit also features a large wilderness area that requires non-residents to be accompanied by a guide or a resident. This rugged terrain, home to high grizzly densities, will test any hunter's endurance. Despite the challenges, the limited tag allocation makes this a fantastic hunt for both residents and non-residents, whether within or outside the wilderness area. Early-season hunting is particularly promising in the North Absaroka Wilderness, though a snowstorm will often push elk to lower elevations, including those migrating from Yellowstone as they head to their wintering grounds.
